Here are some quick tips to minimize spoilage before acquiring dry ice: 

Minimize fridge opening: Limit opening the refrigerator door to maintain the cold air inside for as long as possible. 

Group food together: Consolidate your food items to create a larger cold mass, slowing down the temperature rise. 

Safety warnings 

Not for human consumption 

Handle only with protective gloves or mitts 

Transport only in complete isolation from the driver 

Do not place dry ice in any gas-tight container 

Keep away from children (adult supervision is required)
